To gain a greater understanding of Social networking using the Internet.

To become more proficient, safer and wiser in using social networking.

To learn the value of worldwide friendships in the real world.

2.   The range and diversity of social networking sites.

The Market leaders - Facebook, Myspace, YouTube, Bebo

Niche and special interest sites.

3.    Playing safe.

The dangers of impersonation, identity theft, traps, Phishing, predators, addiction.

How to protect privacy.

Netiquette.

4.      Global Dimensions

Social networking as a means of linking across geographic and social divides.
